Dr. Pugach elected Vice Chair of the American Medical Association's Organized Medical Staff Governing Council.

Dr. Robert Pugach moved to California, where he became Department Head of Urology for CIGNA Healthplan. In 1988, he opened his private practice in urology. In 2003, he founded Pacific Coast Urology Medical Center to focus on new, minimally invasive treatment options for urology patients. Pacific Coast Urology Medical Center has convenient Orange County and Los Angeles County offices in Los Alamitos, Huntington Beach, and Beverly Hills, CA.

In recent years, Dr. Robert Pugach has focused many of his efforts on minimally invasive treatment therapies for treating urologic conditions such as benign prostate enlargement, bladder control problems and prostate cancer. He was instrumental in bringing microwave thermotherapy to Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Dr. Robert Pugach has performed more minimally invasive treatment prostate procedures than any other urologist in California, and he is actively involved in teaching other physicians about microwave thermotherapy and other minimally invasive treatment techniques.

For five years Dr. Robert Pugach has been selected as one of America's Top Physicians. Since 2004, Dr. Robert Pugach has been honored with this prestigious award. Each year doctors are selected as Consumers' Research Council of America Top Physicians based on their continuing dedication and outstanding work they have accomplished throughout their career.

In addition to his urology practice, Dr. Pugach is active in many medical executive capacities, serving on numerous committees for the California Medical Association, the American Medical Association and community hospitals.

Dr. Pugach also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Hospital of Long Beach (www.chlb.org) and led the effort to re-open this valuable neighborhood hospital.
