SYMPTOMS THAT MIMIC UTIs

Every week we see new patients coming to us with UTI symptoms but negative urine culture tests. That means that there is no UTI. So why do some patients still have symptoms? Most of the time it’s due to cystitis – inflammation of the bladder without a true bacterial infection. While there are several causes, it’s often due to narrowing of the urethra.

At Pacific Coast Urology, Dr. Pugach performs a medical procedure in his office called, urethral dilation. We often treat cystitis with gentle dilating of the urethra to try to prevent recurrences.

Don’t wait, guess or suffer if you have UTI or cystitis.
