After receiving InterStim®,
Gail
noticed an immediate and dramatic relief of her symptoms,
proclaiming, "I am enthusiastic. The difference was immediate,
and I have control for
the first time in 20 years."

"The
Love Story Continues … Fighting Prostate Cancer with
Advanced Technology by Yvette M. Manard, MPH
"I was devastated when I received the diagnosis but I knew I had to
act right away. After consulting with my family doctor, Dr. Julie
Ann Sherman strongly advised me to immediately schedule my
appointment with urologist Dr. Robert Pugach. I liked Dr. Pugach
right away because he spoke to me like I was an intelligent human
being. He explained the pros and cons of all the treatment
procedures carefully and thoroughly so I had a good understanding of
my options. Dr. Pugach discussed a new minimally invasive procedure
called HIFU and both my wife
Leslie and I
decided this was the best treatment option for me."

"Deciding what kind of prostate cancer treatment to get is a
critical decision. Every man is different. But do your research and
get all the facts. I’m happy that I explored all options before
deciding on a new procedure.
I’m so pleased that I selected
HIFU
and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this procedure.”
Donald Tavie,
Los Angeles, CA

"I suffered a chronic problem that
affected my ability to work out rigorously. I saw several
urologists who minimized it and weren’t interested in seeking a
solution. Dr. Robert Pugach listened to what I had to say and
proceeded with diagnostic analysis. In the end he identified
the root problem and corrected it with minor surgery. He gave
me back the ability to keep myself fit and feeling great. His
willingness to listen to his patients sets him apart." Rick H., Seal Beach, CA
April 2009
"I had struggled with the increasingly troublesome physical problem
of incontinence for several years before consulting with Dr. Pugach.
I truly appreciated Dr. Pugach’s sensitivity when discussing this
very personal matter with me. He explained that I did not have to
accept incontinence as an inevitable part of aging and suggested
several viable options to
correct his problem."
I opted for a minimally invasive surgical procedure that was
unexpectedly painless and from which I experienced a surprisingly
swift and uncomplicated recovery. Both the office and nursing staff
have always been unfailingly pleasant and helpful. My place of
employment required a Physician’s Note confirming the date of my
surgery and the time necessary for recovery so that my sick leave
could be scheduled. In addition, “Curves”, a women’s fitness
facility) upon receipt of my physicians note, would waive the
membership fees while I was in recovery. The office staff was
extremely accommodating, faxing these notices in a timely manner to
both concerned parties.
All in all, my experience with Dr. Pugach and his remarkable staff
was outstanding. I would confidently recommend Pacific Coast Urology
Medical Center to all my family and friends.

To: Dr. Robert
Pugach and his wonderful caring staff
I was skeptical
at first that I would have to have an operation called a “Turp
Procedure.” I woke up one morning and I couldn’t urinate. “My God,”
I thought it was my kidney’s that failed. I was referred to Dr.
Pugach and upon examination, he told me and also my wife, that a
“Turp Procedure” would help and possibly get me to urinate
again. I wore a catheter tube for a month before my surgery as my
stomach was so fat and full of fluid, which really was wonderful to
be able to get rid of all of the urine that had built up.
I went to the
hospital on the 28th of March, 2008. I had surgery by Dr.
Pugach. Prior and post-op I was wearing catheter urine leg bags and
a foley catheter at night. The first real positive thing I noted was
in the recovery room I virtually had no pain. I thought there was
going to be “big time” pain and was dreading it.
I went home the
next day and I started to urinate a little, still not a lot of
pain. On Father’s Day I had such a great gift, I could “pee” like a
race horse, like I was 15 years old again. No more tube and I
am free. I will be able to work somewhat and I can go fishing
like I liked to do when I was younger. I am so thankful to Dr.
Pugach and his staff for giving me a new lease on life. God
Bless Dr. Pugach, not only is he one of the best Doctor’s in the
United States, but he is one of the best urologist in the world.
The procedure responsible for this is the “Turp Procedure”, or Trans
Urethral Resection of the Prostate. I just want to
share this wonderful and successful surgery with everyone and not to
give up hope, Dr. Pugach is “the man!”
Sincerely,
Gordon

I am more that happy to write a testimonial to
tell anyone who is considering being treated by Dr. Pugach that
they could not make a wiser choice. I must admit that making an
appointment with a urologist because you’re having problems with
your urination habits is not something you look forward to
especially when you are healthy and active man under
forty.
Moreover, saying that I anticipated an
uncomfortable process is an understatement. However, Dr. Pugach
and his staff have such a pleasant and profession manner about
them that I was anything but uncomfortable. I have known my fair
share of doctors but I have never met a more affable and
concerned doctor. He has by far the best listening skills that
are combined with a sense of empathy that most doctors are
completely void of. And I am not just saying that because he is
thoughtful enough to put a TV on the ceiling for the patients to
watch while they are having a procedure done. After my first
examination I left his office confident that what ever problem I
did have he would be able help.
And yes he did help but in more ways than one. My
initial problem was diagnosed accurately and treated with
prescription. I was very pleased that and all my symptoms were
relieved, however, that was not all Dr. Pugach did for me, all
be it enough. It was during one of my follow up appointments
when I mentioned to Dr. Pugach that my wife and I were trying to
have a baby. Just to be safe he sent me for some tests and
adjusted my medication to a drug that would still treat my
symptoms but help better facilitate the reproductive process. I
am happy to say that soon thereafter I joyfully called Dr.
Pugach’s office to report that we had conceived our first child.
And you know what? A couple weeks later they sent us a
congratulations card.
There are many doctors who are competent and will
be able to treat you effectively. Although I believe that Dr.
Pugach and his staff go way beyond that and in a way that does
not feel contrived in any way. I believe they are all just very
nice, caring and thoughtful people who are considerate of your
time and care. I would not have ever thought that going to the
urologist was my favorite doctor’s office to visit but IT IS.
Sincerely,
Josh
